Christel MacLean
Ms. MacLean is a Founder and Managing Partner of Circus Restaurant Group, LLC which includes the original restaurant concepts, Circus Café and The Crown Grill. She is also the Principal Broker of Realty Saratoga, a boutique real estate firm located in Saratoga Springs, New York. Ms. MacLean runs the restaurant and real estate businesses with her husband and business partner, Colin MacLean.
A resident of Saratoga Springs, Ms. MacLean serves on the Board of Directors of The Adirondack Trust Company. In addition she served as Founding Board Member and Co-Vice President of the Board of Directors of SaratogaArtsFest for 6 years; on the Board of Directors of the Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association for 8 years; and PTA President of Division Street Elementary School from 2010-2012. In addition Christel serves on the Nominating Committee of the Society of Alumni at Williams College where she has responsibility for nominating members of the Board of Trustees of Williams College. She and Colin MacLean, her husband and business partner, also serve as mentors through the Skidmore College Mentoring Program.
Ms. MacLean has held a variety of ownership and management positions in the real estate, finance and hospitality industries throughout her career in New York City and Saratoga Springs. In addition to the positions mentioned above, she was owner of Hattie .s Restaurant from 1993-2001. Prior to that, her professional life was spent on Wall Street where for 10 years she was an investment banking executive in the Real Estate Finance Department at Salomon Brothers, Inc as well as in the Corporate Finance Department at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Other positions she held on Wall Street were at Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation where she was a consultant in the Marketing Department and at American International Group where she was Manager of Strategic Planning for the President of the Risk Management Department.
Ms. MacLean has a Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance and Real Estate Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Political Science from Williams College in Williamstown, MA.
Ms. MacLean lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband Colin, daughter Lucy and Labradoodle Griffin.
Colin MacLean
Colin came to Saratoga Springs in 1997 from NYC where he worked for 10 years as an actor and then a producer for Broadway theatre. In NYC he was actively involved in the rental market, always having a knack at finding wonderful doorman buildings at below market value for himself and his actor peers.
A licensed NYS salesperson since 2002, Colin is a proficient and extremely knowledgeable real estate professional. Known for his aesthetic, analytical skills and expertise regarding sourcing the most appropriate financing options for clients, he is a major asset to the Realty Saratoga Team. His contacts both in Saratoga and NYC, and strong marketing talents are a terrific boon to our clients. Together with Christel he owns Circus Café and The Crown Grill.
